I like the comics

I'm a big fan of Mignola's Hellboy comics.

I like Neil Marshall as a director. Dog Soldiers and The Descent are great.

This was a nice attempt at adding features of Mignola's comic to a film. The Baba Yaga, the changeling, etc..

But, David Harbour's more loud and whiney hellboy is off-putting. The makeup looks good in parts that aren't the face. His acting is consistent, but Perlman's makeup and mannerisms were better.

The story has some fun scenes. But it is stuffed full in which it overstays its welcome.

The rest of the cast isn't great. It was an attempt. It just didn't work out.
