To me, there is always this question, which genre does a film belong to, primarily? SciFi? Action? Thriller? Drama? - Well, I could answer that question for myself, regarding this movie. The prevailing genre here is definitely Romance. This film is about love. And that's why I put it onto my list of best romance movies. You are welcome to visit it. This movie is intense, and the performance of the actors is very satisfying.

One of the hallmarks of a really well-made movie is that it's difficult to fit it into one genre. That said, I'd call this a drama-thriller with a romantic subtext and a coming-of-age theme. The main arc of the story is James being forced to grow up and learn what's really important, and where he really belongs.

Pre-apocalyptic coming of age. It's a genre that's been done to death.
