This movie explains how and why Donald Trump is now President-elect

This includes the kind of people who are most susceptible to white nationalism, white supremacy, neo-Nazism, anti-feminism, anti-immigration, anti-Islam, etc. -- in other words, people who are normally too apathetic and disenfranchised with mainstream media to bother voting.

Here's where you lost me. It isn't any of that. It is simply returning to some rational ways of thinking.

As in, we're tired of being told that we have to accept all religions (Muslims) but when a baker who is Christian doesn't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding they are forced to do so.

If someone doesn't want my business, I'm not going to force them to take it. I'll take my business elsewhere and make sure I tell every person I possibly can to NOT go to that business. (And, for the record, I think it is stupid to not bake the cake.)

We're tired of being called homophobic because we don't want a 40 year old man wearing a dress to get undressed and shower in front of our 10 year old daughters because the man says he identifies as a woman.

Use the restroom/showers appropriate for whatever sex organs you currently have.

I'd have no problem with someone convicted of a violent rape being castrated, but don't claim it was rape when you wake up in the morning and realize you cheated on your boyfriend because you were partying and hitting on all of the guys and one of them was drunk enough to go to bed with you.

I want blacks and whites to live together peacefully. But I want to live by Dr. Ben Carson, not by a house filled with gangsta's. I want blacks to respect themselves. I want them to appreciate what they can have if they get an education and stick around to raise their children. I want them to help raise up society not bring it down so that everyone is wearing their pants below their azz.

We're tired of politicians entering office as "one of us" and then 20 - 30 years later leaving as multi-millionaires while we watch our wages go down, jobs disappear, etc.

We're fine with immigration - we can't understand what people don't understand about ILLEGAL immigration.

In other words, you are portraying it that it was the radicals which defeated Hillary. It wasn't. It was regular people who have completely repudiated 0bama's policies and decisions and knew that if Hillary won it would be 4 more years of the same.

Well, in my view, it's only superficially pro-feminist, cause in reality it's an anti feminist movie. But also men are not presented in a very positive way. As time passes, I appreciate 'Gone Girl' more and more, cause I've realized it's a full blown satire/critique of modern society. There's not a bit of dialogue is this movie, which should be taken seriously. It's not a drama, it's a comedy really.

To me, this movie showed how trial by television works, and how a scheming woman could capitalise on rampant feminism to destroy a man using the media to do it. If there is any connection to the trump campaign, it is because he also played to the lowest possible common denominator in America and he won of course. He used Tweets which were free, to country Clinton's expensive advertising. She helped him by attacking his followers rather than his ideas. She told the truth, more or less and he lied through his teeth. The people preferred his Big Lies to her small truths.

Reading through some of these threads about feminism and anti-feminism is rather interesting in light of recent developments.

This film had nothing to do with feminism. You seem very confused about what feminism means. Feminist = fair-minded.

When you wish to describe a scenario in which either men or a man are/is better than, superior to, more entitled to... women or a woman, or the reverse, in which women or a woman are/is better than, superior to, more entitled to... men or a man, those are sexists - the sex supremacists.

It's like a race supremacist, except instead of using the irrational and illogical and ultimately unfair criteria of one body organ - skin, they use another body organ - genitalia, as a basis for their delusion of supremacy. These folk have been indoctrinated. Maybe by religion, maybe by ignorant parents, maybe by media propaganda or low-quality, formal education. It's tough to avoid!

But, full-functioning folk have use of critical thinking skills so they know to take responsibility for doing research using a wide variety of sources - most importantly, ones which present opposing views in equally valid ways.

I have a different theory about how tRape got even one adult to vote for him because every single one of those voters chose to think, "It takes a village" and "I'm the village which supports the rapists." That's what they did. And, it's nothing new.

This thread is in serious need of FACTS, so here goes...

America is a very pro-rape, anti-woman nation. Here are (referenced) facts so you may verify:

In America, a sexual assault occurs every 109 SECONDS – every 8 minutes, that victim is a child.

Lots of lip service goes to "I love women.," but what other group whom you say you love, would you stand by and do nothing while they are being attacked every few minutes? Your family, your friends?

2 - Let’s consider pregnant American women...

For decades in America, homicide at the hands of a husband or a boyfriend has been the #1 cause of death of American pregnant women. A year here or there, it dropped to the 2nd leading cause of death.

None of the above addresses wage disparity, poverty and hunger levels for women and children and a myriad of other vital issues pertaining to the health, safety and freedom of American women. But do you know whom has been working to help women?

The Electoral College needs to vote for Hillary so that American women are no longer being taxed without representation. Given the power... she'll fulfill her goal of making the country safe and fair for women. And, that's good for men, too. Is that why when Hillary found out the names of the women Bill was cheating with Hillary released their names to slut-shame them - but still stayed with Bill? What about the women he sexually assaulted? Why did she stay with him if she's such a supporter of women?

A more accurate question would be, and I quote:

More than a dozen women have come forward and said exactly the same about Trump, or even worse as the women said concerning Clinton. So why does Melania choose to stay? She was even pregnant when he said this. That is a far more topical issue.
