If there's a sequel, what should the plot be?

The author of the book (and the script) said she's considering to write a sequel and cast is apparently down if that happens. I'm a huge fan of the book and the movie and while the story ended pretty conclusively, I can definitely think of a number of ways the sequel could go.

Namely, Nick is obviously not happy with the forced marriage with Amy. He hates her, and can't see her the same way again after everything she did. So, he and Go try to build a case around her murdering Desi Collins, since that'd be the only way to put her away for good. But of course Amazing Amy is way too conniving to let that be an easy goal for them. Who knows what she'll do next?!

I know, it probably won't be as good as the first one. But if the author decides to write a sequel to the book, I'd read that in a heartbeat. And you bet I'd watch the sequel in theaters opening weekend like I did the first one. It made over $350 million in the box office, so I'm sure the studio would love to make another one.

Nick takes a turn at the helm and he and the child go into an underground network that gives fathers and children new identities to escape from psycho mothers - operated by no other than Tanner Bolt (or at least he feeds clients into the network)

I haven't read the book - only saw the film. So, based on that...

The two main characters are mentally ill. They are both violent towards lovers. They both appear to be incapable of honest relating to others. They both put a lot of planning and effort into hiding their secrets. Both of them are irresponsible, blame others and seem fully entrenched in their self-image as victims - to the point of feeling entitled to what they've done. Now, they are going to become parents.

LOL, if the sequel jumps years into the future, their child should be a real treat. That would likely be a story of inevitable patricide and matricide. Unless they end up killing their child first... but that's unlikely because narcissists would see themselves in the kid and couldn't do it. However, the way they carry on could accidentally kill their child.

So, I'd start it right away with the birth of the child and then I'd make it the twin sister's story. He's got her thinking she's his only hope and she's so blindly devoted, that could make for an interesting rivalry between the sister and the wife, the aunt and the mother. Since the story plays a bit with relationships between women, expectations, biases, etc... I'd make the sequel focus on them.

Whichever way they go with the story - it's going to be bleak at best and full of horror at worst.

It should revolve around Emily Ratajkowski's breasts.

Greta contacts Amy and blackmails her for more money or she'll let the police know where Amy was staying while she was supposedly tied up by Desi. Amy tries to force Nick into helping her deal with Greta but he sees an opportunity to get rid of Amy instead and everyone ends up trying to manipulate eachother. the cat eventually outsmarts them all and ends up owning all of Amy, Nick and Desi's money, having sole custody of Amy and Nick's kid and running The Bar
