Sounds like 7 samurai doesn't it? (spoilers)

This plot of Po teaching an entire village to defend itself against marauding bandtis, (probably) together with his master and the furious five; makes it a total of seven (kung fu fighters) - what a coincidence?

I hope kids who will love this one; in due time, will love Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece even more!

I wouldn't at all be surprised if that was intentional. "Kung Fu Panda" 1 and 2 pay a lot of homages to older, classic martial arts/kung fu flicks, so this one may very likely be doing just that.
