Why do people see this movie as too silly but Kungfu Panda 2 isn't?

I've seen people on these boards saying Kungfu Panda 3 is way too silly compared to the second one, but I disagree. I agree that Kungfu Panda 2 is the better movie, but most of the humor just felt forced even in serious moments. Aside from the flashback of Po's mom, nearly every potentially serious scene that involved Po was cut off by him acting silly. Some examples include his hand catching fire when dodging Shen's attacks, him having his back turned when getting ready to face the wolves in the town, Lord Shen asking Po how he dodged his attacks (only for Po to say he just throws his arms back), Lord Shen not being able to hear Po from the top of the tower, etc. Then we have the cartoonish wolf antics. Like I said, I felt Kungfu Panda 2 was better than the third one, but most of the humor still felt forced.

Agree or disagree?

It's time Po grows up a little. There's no progress when he remains silly for eternity.Some of those silly scenes downgraded the movie for me. ---Lincoln Lee: I lost a partner.Peter Bishop: I lost a universe!

The main character is too goofy and there was so much stupid slapstick that I thought I'm getting too old for animated films. But I saw Zootopia and loved every minute of it, so maybe it's just this movie.
