Why didn't Li bring up Shen from the second film, who caused the genocide of pandas?
Why didn't Oogway mention that the Pandas were chi masters in the first place?
Why didn't Tai Lung appear in the Spirit Realm if the Wu Xi finger hold takes people there?
Really, the retcons this film did to the KFP saga were confusing and possibly damaging.

I don't consider this a retcon,They did show a silhouette of peacock feathers chasing after Po's mom in the flashback.So he is still the major cause of the genocide of pandas.
OOgway didnt mention that pandas were chi masters because Po didnt grow up with the hci master pandas so he didnt want to put extra pressure on Po who had no confidence. and he didnt want to hype up shifu.

1. The flashback of Po's mother showed the peacock tail.
2. As Oogway said after Kai's defeat, Po was meant to unite the past of Chi Masters with the present. Po couldn't do that if he hadn't followed the journey he was meant to follow.
3. Tai Lung was one of the Master's that Kai collected in the spirit world.
No retcons here, move along people.
Tai Lung was there - as a chi amulet on Kai's belt.
