Same story line

Isn't the story too repetitive in all three? Po tries hard in mastering a powerful skill, faces the villain before mastering the skill, just before getting defeated ... boom ... masters the skill and defeats the villain with it.

This story looked great in very first movie, that was an original piece. Same happened in 2, OK. This third one started great and looked like it will be the best one the series but turned out to be the same again. Will the next movies in series follow this same structure?

There's more to the story than that and different details of the various threads come out in each movie. If you only see that, then you're missing a lot.

Maybe, but I would also like to add that the stories also share a very similar message and "techniques" for Po to learn.

The first movie ended with the Dragon warrior scroll which was supposed to teach Po that "Being yourself" and believing is your strength.

In the second movie it culminated to in order to win Po needs to master inner peace, which he learns by "accepting who he is" through past trauma.

The third movie once again seems to culminate into everyone realizing "who they are" in order to master Chi usage.

So in all three movies Po basically has to learn the same thing, "who he is".

And I would say that the first movie did it best by far.

My thoughts exactly!!!! The first one was great. But it seems like the makers are just recycling the same basic plot for the sequels. This was the most boring movie of the 3. Overly predictable!

"If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you!"

That's the basic plot to a lot of things like this. Dragon Ball Z is extremely similar but done over almost 300 episodes.

I am glad they made the 2 sequels, however id did find them both utterly forgettable. The original KP1 was pretty incredible.

I was more focused on them pulling the same "I suck and everyone thinks I suck" card as the first one. Complete with overhearing people mocking him on a dark path.
