I was expecting some sort of twist
Like the house was actually haunted or the man kept dead bodies in his basement. They built it up and then nothing. Instead, we got a dull, generic film.

shareYep, with a super annoying teenager. Was hoping the twist was the old man blows Ethan's head off.
shareThe twist was that the guy was innocent. They built it up that he was hiding some deep dark secret and in the end, he was simply a 'good neighbor'.
shareWhen I discovered that, I felt deflated. I felt the front end of the film built up for a nice interesting twist/reveal towards the end. I was hoping it might be similarly innovative as 'The Visit' was in taking its unexpected direction (a quite similar, but by far superior film). But it just fizzled out. So he was a good neighbour. Boring!
shareI liked it because there wasn't a big twist. Not every suspense/thriller movie needs to be M. Night Shyamalan'd up.
I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.
Ha ha so let's actually think about what you have just posted: you state the fact that it didn't conform to what you expected then it was 'generic' i.e. predictable? Do you ever think about what you post before hitting send? You're as dumb as the privileged, stupid millennials in this movie.
'Well I've got two words for you - STFU'
Completely agree.
