Jimmy grief

Felt bad for him that he lost Danny and now probably wants payback against Wallace for leaving his brother to die. Poor slyvie looked as though she wanted to hug him in comfort, I hope he doesn't get written out in season five. He sure looked as though he was going to all catatonic or lash out at Kelly. He probably regrets not asking Matt to help his brother with the bar.

I just hope it doesn't lead to Boden and 51 being under investigation AGAIN because I will truly be done.

Its such a terrible position for Boden to be in. He told them all to come out, and he didn't. What is he supposed to do? He gave another minute after he refused to listen. IMO, it was all on Danny at that point. Jimmy needs to be thanking him for saving his life. Ungrateful jackass.

Agree. It's sort of dumb. I'd rather see a story about Jimmy dealing with his grief then another dumb 'investigation' type storyline. It will be super duper annoying if it goes that route again.

I would rather see Jimmy deal with maybe his own guilt of not doing the favor for his brother. Maybe he is just lashing out. But it looks like it will be a 'thing' next episode

reply

He literally just lost his brother and he's grieving?? Of course he's going to lash out and say things he doesn't really mean. *beep* I was terrible to everyone when my brother died.

I'm pretty sure Boden will understand, they'll commiserate, and we'll get a feel good ending. I think it'd be a bad move to write him out right after they finally start to develop his character.

reply

It hurt seeing him like that. Kid seriously has the worst luck and now he has to watch his brother die? I don't think they would write him out but I would like to see him dealing with the grief. Right now he's in that angry stage but he's probably feeling guilty for not being able to do more.

reply

Jimmy'll be better without him anyway. Danny was horrible to him; always taking never giving.

reply

Gabby will step in and have a talk with Boden and convince him to apologize to Jimmy. Then Jimmy will bang Gabby, and Gabby in return will tell Boden to promote her to interim Chief while the fire commissioner investigates the fire that killed Jimmy's brother Danny.

reply

He looks broken and will probably lash out against Boden.

reply

TBH I didn't think that was great writing. After leaving the guy's brother in there to do, they think the old chestnut of a speech will rally the troops? Kinda half-assed writing imo.

reply

Danny wasn't going to leave the building even if Boden didn't give him one more minute. I wish he'd explain that to Jimmy. It's not like Boden ordered everyone out and told Danny to keep looking around. Then Boden goes in himself and saves Jimmy. If they wanted Jimmy to be angry at Boden give him a more realistic reason.

reply

I agree, I didn't think Danny was going to listen to Boden anyways.

reply

He wasn't listening to him, he ordered him out multiple times. Boden had a choice of sending someone in to try to drag him out or try to give him a short time limit to get him moving.

Yes the guy is grieving and irrational but that is just really too much reaching for a story.

reply

This is almost identical to Chili's deal. Being stupid after death of loved one and probably losing job.

This show is eco-friendly with all it's storyline recycling.

reply

I just hope that jimmy doesn't suffer the same fate Jessica chiton did when she lost her sister and drink on the Job.

reply

Let's hope he doesn't turn into Chilli - the grieving sibling on a destructive path.

What, are the writers this lazy????

reply

I like jimmy on the show, I think he makes a good partner with Brett. I however feel they are heading toward sending him into his brothers old house and off the show. It's almost like they flirted with the Brett/jimmy storyline; but never went there. Kind of like tbe Brett/Otis storyline.

reply

I think the storyline could have been better but I think Jimmy should have been there with his ex sister in law and her kids.

I thought his comment about Boden and the rumors were interesting.

reply

I think jimmy possibly lied to stacey about wallace more as a way of having his sister in law to think of his brother as a hero even though that remains to be seen.

reply

The showrunner did recently outright say that either Jimmy or Boden is going to leave the show by the end of season 5, but we still don't know who it will be though.
Although I do pity Jimmy and as much as I like him, I still like Chief Boden more and I hope they don't retire his character, unlike Jimmy, Boden has been on the show since the beginning, he is the pillar of Firehouse 51...I can't imagine 51 functioning without their trusted chief.

Jimmy is still overcome with grief right now and I understand him wanting to blame Boden for his brother's death, in his opinion Boden was responsible. But it was his brother's OWN decision to run back into that burning building, he wanted to be the hero and did what he wanted to do, Boden merely granted his wishes and he died a hero. But Jimmy is still in a bad place right now and probably still doesn't want to accept it.

reply

Ya I agree however one thing that is confusing to me is that they had a opening to let Jimmy go when he lost his firefighter position (that would have been a good farewell and a possibility for him to come back) ..but no they kept him around as a paramedic..why go through the trouble if they plan on dropping him in s5..I don't know how far in advance they write the eps (maybe something came up) but I think they should have known the ending of s4 by then and the conflict that would cause jimmy and Boden. Unless like I mentioned in my other post is that jimmy leaves at the beginning of season 5 cuz the actor is returning to the vampire diaries.

reply

He's acting like a little bitch. I can't stand this character. As a firefighter, they know the risks when they signed up.

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.

reply

Jimmy should know being a firefighter is a risky job, I think he was more upset that he felt Wallace abandoned Danny to die rather than attempting to make the effort to save his brother. Even though Wallace figured that if he did, both he and jimmy probably both would have been dead so he made the call he thought was necessary.

reply

Knowing the risks don't make the casualties less depressing? Jimmy knowing the risks doesn't mean he's supposed to brush it off like a fly on his shoulder. Danny was still his brother and from his perspective, Boden did the one thing no authoritarian faction, whether the be police, fire department, marines, should do. And this is leave a man behind.

reply

Am I the only one that finds this reply a bit... interesting.

You know the guy you're replying to was a Marine right?
