Season 5 / Ep 9 - Question about Ending

I recorded this episode on my DVR. The ending cut off when Al knocked on the door and told Hank that the baby in the accident had died. I figured I had lost the ending even though I always extend the DVR recordings five minutes late.

I then watched the ending on the NBC web site and the episode ended when Erin advised Severide that either he come with them now or they can have uniformed officers take him out in handcuffs. It even showed the credits after this ending.

I watched the next episode of Chicago PD and there was no mention of the accident, car jacking or Severide. Some previous posters say that this was all explained.

What gives? Are there different endings being shown?

There were two episodes of "Chicago PD" that aired this week.

The two-part crossover event aired on Tuesday, January 3rd, and episode 9 aired at 10:00 PM (Eastern time) immediately after Chicago Fire. This was the conclusion to the Severide storyline that it sounds like you missed.

Episode 10 of CPD aired at its usual time on Wednesday night, and the story was about solving the unsolved murders of several women by a serial killer.

I hope this helps!

I did not know there was a crossover to Chicago PD. After your post, I checked my DVR recordings and found the episode "Don't Bury This Case" (1/3/17) - Chicago PD. I appreciate your help. Thank you.
