Time for Regina to die ~ but how to kill her off.

Regina murdered two innocents - her husband and the school teacher. She cannot be allowed to live. There are many ways for her to meet her demise.

Automobile accident (too boring).
Riding accident that leaves her paralyzed so that Anna et.al. can torment her and she cannot do anything about it (delicious retribution).
Sgt. Taylor kills her.
Gordon Walsh (the school teacher's fiance) kills her.
She accidentally ODs on morphine by her own hand.

Having finished the series since it's already been shown in Oz, it wouldn't be wise to comment directly here on those guesses.

But suffice to say Regina has engendered a great deal of speculation prior to the finale--probably more than any other outcome.

She certainly brings out the demise ideas!

There has been a plot point in which somebody tried to use the psychiatric knowledge of 1953 to categorize her "disorder."

But it was much more fun to simply see her as the evil witch she is. In soap operas people always keep their fingers crossed for these types to get their commupence.

However, my fear is that because every soap opera writer loves his/her evil character so much, it's hard for them to dispense with them forever. Like a bad penny, they like to keep them around to pop up again. That's not say either way for Regina in this case, though, so that's a general comment not a specific Regina one.

By the episode before the finale, I was so tired of Regina as a plot and character I almost vowed not to return for the next season if there were any chance she appears in it after the finale was over! haha

Acorn TV is my source for APTCH here in the US and today they released S4 E7&E8. I read the episode reviews on IMDb for the remainder of the season, but there were no spoilers. Sometimes I think Regina is perfect for George and she might soften if he was the least bit 'fair' to her.

I am trying to reconcile how the same person can hold such divergent points of view; it almost sounds bipolar; as if your root principles turn on a dime.

The same day you were reminded that:
As for George being nicer to Regina to "soften her" she's a murderer and attempted murderer. She's a psycho.

Apparently always has been to some extent. We speculated early on that she possibly did in her poor old hubby to get at George once his wife had died and the coast became clear again for her to "get" George as a husband.

The idea that she would poison the old hubby to death did not seem very farfetched as she killed the teacher and tried to suffocate Elizabeth with a pillow before she had to flee the room.

She's evil incarnate and not likely a product of a husband who didn't love her enough.

To which you THEN replied:
Excellent points!

Would it be "fair" to suspect that you vote for the last name you heard?

Is there only going to be four seasons? I am in the USA and watching season 4 episodes 7 & 8 came out today 12/12/2016. I agree Regina needs to go evil as possible but who would be the villain? Bring in someone new? Really love the cast.

There is going to be a series 5. Four isn't the end. News reports have said that series 5 will pick up after a few year's time gap in the late 1950s.

George's marriage of convenience didn't create Regina. The psychological eval mentioned by Jack indicated her problems are profound and long-term. And little did Jack know even then how dangerous she really was.

Thanks.

I've been hoping for some time someone with some nous would dig into the situation in which her poor old hubby died so conveniently. haha

Her behavior is ripe for such ruminations....

To me, the family's behavior is prototypical WASP much like the society in "The Age of Innocence". Even in this century PLU is the operative term of that part of society. Confused about PLU? People like us i.e. The 400 (English Pilgrim families) and most of the D.A.R. and S.A.R. both which you will have to look up on your own.

As for the series, here in Wisconsin, public TV is replaying season 3 (specifically episode 5 "Living in the Shadow" just tonight). Hopefully, this reprise is in anticipation of showing season 4. Although I've read the synopses and comments ahead, many of which are negative, I hope to enjoy the remainder of the series regardless of cast changes and character rewrites. Please don't criticize the grammar of the foregoing :-)
