I almost laughed in the theater when Tony took Peter's suit away. It wasn't really that sad compared to other scenes in other Spider-Man/MCU movies. He even has a stupid sad montage about it. Michelle was the only good part in that montage because she actually makes fun of Peter's moping.

It's weird but if I had the magic ticket from Last Action Hero and went into this movie I'd introduce myself as a cosmic being and start telling him after Tony takes away his suit about all these other alternate universes of him where his girlfriend's father is killed by an accident he caused fighting a supervillain, then after that tell him about how his best friend's dad becomes a super villain and ends up killing his girlfriend and then later kills himself by accident when he tried to kill him with his glider. Then tell him about how his best friend becomes a supervillain of the same name and how rough that was. For the sake of it, tell him about how in the same universe the same guy comes back from the dead and kills his baby daughter. And that said same guy later fakes his Aunt May's death. After hearing all that he is going to realize things aren't so bad.
shareI could put myself in the kid's shoes, but I see what you mean. Still, as cliche-ish and not as dramatic as the montage may be, to me it works because it is self-aware. No matter, Michelle poking fun at Pete is definitely the best part of that scene.
