Used to like Connor's character in the past but now he's just a whiny spoiled brat and when he had that gun in his possession I somewhat wanted him to just 'go'.

Actually, it's Conor. Connor is Angel's son in the Buffy spinoff Angel. Although come to think about it, they are both roughly equally annoying, though in very different ways. Of course, the exceedingly dim gangster wannabe Conor would never have survived the Quor'toth, the darkest of the dark worlds where Connor grew up and became known as the Destroyer..

He just hasn't added anything of value to the series, maybe that's the writer's fault but Connor (or Conor) just seems to always be like that.

It would be difficult to find a more useless character in all of television history.
Yes, the little sheet outlived his usefulness a long time ago. All he has is nuisance value, and raises questions as to why Ray sticks with his worthless family in the first place.
