lazy writing, how can you possibly get onto a flight with 2 mil cash

It just doesnt make any sense, i have looked past alot of things this season but this was dumb

reply

if he had checked it atleast it would be minimally plausible ..... *beep* im annoyed

reply

Not to mention the fact he left the money in the fricking cab with a stripper whom he just met while he went to check on the fat bookie.

reply

The part where he left it in the cab made sense, given Mickey's history of being an idiot any time a good looking woman gives him a second look. The part where he brought it on the airplane, though, had me thinking the same thing as you, though.

reply

He wouldn't have made it to the gate. The metal stripes in the bills would have triggered the alarm and the only trip Mickey would've taken would be straight back to jail. Why didn't he drive there and fly home? It's only a couple of hours.

reply

It's 5 hours from LA to Vegas and that's with no traffic, which is rare.

reply

Not really, unless you drive under the speed limit. It's 270 miles, about 4 hrs without traffic. Seeing as in reality Mickey would never have gotten near a commercial flight it would have made sense. He could have rented a car and flown home to save time. It's not like a few hours mattered because the fight wasn't that night. Ray was the one in a hurry because of Avi and his family.

reply

Maybe Ray bribed someone?

reply

Totally expected the girl to tell the taxi driver to book it. Then try to hunt her down, leading him to some rich coke-head's house, that he would then challenge to a ping-pong match to get what he is after.

But she didn't.

Yes, but it will be noted, and Mick is a convicted felon, making all that scratch hard to explain. Then again, he was probably flying on Ray Donovan Airways so he could get away with it.

reply

LOL!!!
Yea, if he said bus then that would have made more sense. Unless they know folks at the Airport Gates. Doubt it!

reply

It isn't illegal, but TSA can ask where the money came from - and as noted by other posters Mickey is a convicted felon. The money would likely be seized.

The bigger issue is the lazy writing, because Ray would know this and Ray would have known the money came from the casino guy. It is possible the money could be traced in some way back to the crime.

I don't know why Ray didn't plan to drive, but the writers needed some way for Mickey to meet the stripper, etc. It is just lazy writing.

reply

he could have met the stripper in the bar. whole business about the fat guy ding on the toilet was gratuitous, contributed nothing to the plot. main thing was, they wanted to have mick play ping pong with guy for two million dollars, many other short cutted ways to get there, but series ran out of gas long ago and is now broken down somewhere west of Barstow.

reply

Hey, the fat guy that died on the toilet was played by Johnny Roast Beef. We grew up in the same neighborhood.

He plays James Caan's lackey in 'Honeymoon in Vegas'.

Let the guy earn a couple of bucks.

Short Cut, Draw Blood

reply

"I don't know why he didn't plan to drive" is the only thing I did get. Ray was in a hurry to get Avi and protect his family.

reply

How about leaving all that money in a cab with a hooker when he goes to find the fat bookie.

"What would you like to see on your honeymoon, Mrs. Cord?"
"Lots of lovely ceilings."

reply

Lol do you ppl forget your watching a tv show? It's not suppose to be realistic all the time lol

reply

a good t.v show should make you forget its a tv show..... this totally stupid set up makes you remember its just tv which is exactly what it shouldnt do. Game of Thrones isnt set in reality but always feels realistic....
