And just to respond the inevitable "Obama has nothing to do with the stock market" claims...someone should've told that to Obama and his supporters before their gloating about him "saving the stock market."

Of course I'm guessing his policies had everything to do with it while it was temporarily inflating, but nothing to do with it now that it's crashing. Typical selective "reasoning" for political zealots.

how much you want to bet this summer Obama declares war and gets a 3rd term?

I'd bet the same amount I did betting back in 2008 when people were saying that Dubya would create another national emergency, enact martial law and suspend the elections thus making him El Presidente for Life which is nothing.

It didn't happen then and it's not going to happen now. This irrational hatred of the man in charge when he's of the other party is really getting tiresome. The other side have been talking about stuff like this for decades. The left said that Dubya would do it. The right said that Clinton would do it. The left said that Bush the senior would do it. And so on and so on.

And typically the President has little control over the stock market as the economy doesn't actually have a commander in chief. I know it's common to praise a president when the economy is working and to deride him when it'd doing poorly but any control they have over it is usually tied to the people and their views of the President. I will say this though. History has shown that the stock market performs better under Democratic Presidents than Republicans. And Obama is on the way to having the second best showing in the stock market for a Democratic President and third over all.

Just a reminder FB, the Dow was at 7,949.09 when Obama took office....
