Is this entertaining

I am an athiest, and it seems everything on this board is arguments about religion. However I am looking for a new tv show to watch, regardless of whether this is true or not, how good is the series. Is the plot good, and the acting, is it well written with good dialogue? Its between this or hannibal that I start watching next.

"Is the plot good"

I LOL'ed :) It's the Bible, so I guess you have to be christian to think the plot is good. Since you, like myself, don't believe such things as gods - I think you may find the whole thing a bit weird and far fetched.

dena-937-169697, Why do you have to be christian to think the plot is good? Do you think you have to believe something to be netertained by it?

Do you enjoy sci-fi, or superhero films, or action films. Most movies are fnatasies, and never really happened. Does that mean you can't enjoy them? Don't you suspend belief in it?

So, what the OP is asking is, as a piece of television, are the storylines and acting up to scratch? Are there good production values or not?

We all know your thoughts on the matter, we get it? How about answering the OP's question instead of bashing something you are ignorant about anyway, or if you can't do that, then get lost!

I'm an atheist, and I quit watching after 10 minutes. I came to this board to determine if I should bother continuing. 7.0/10 rating doesn't look good. I had high hopes for it, being a student of religious history. This looked like something a baptist church group threw together (in my limited 10-minute view).

I found it to be quite entertaining. I also liked the fact that the History Channel did not make a big deal out of saying it IS all true nor did they say it is NOT all true. This is certainly not the first time the History Channel has addressed religion. The “Book of Eli” (movie) suggests we don’t discard this or any book. I suppose what we each bring to the table makes all the difference! There are a thousand complaints launched against this mini-series by people on both sides just because it is about religion. I think there are 2 schools of thought that might apply:

1) If you believe the Bible is the absolute word of God then just sit back, relax, get out the popcorn and quit complaining that it does not fit all your plans for saving the world through religious movies.
2) If you don’t believe the Bible is the absolute word of God then just sit back, relax, get out the popcorn and quit complaining that it is all a bunch of fairy tales.

I think the important thing is just to enjoy it and know from the start that it won’t really compromise anyone much to watch it. I have watched the History Channel quite a bit and have learned all sorts of things I never would have known about. It would not hurt me to add a few more insights to my journey through life because I ain’t got all the answers either. Any living human being one who says they do is self-deluded by default. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings are fiction and yet I find myself learning a few things about life even from them.

The End.

What a great post. I don't really know what else to say to that without just completely changing the subject. Just wanted to tell you what you wrote was just perfect.
