'not quite'
It's got 'not quite' the budget of something like Game of Thrones, or The Borgias.
It's got 'not quite' as good action set pieces as say a Tsui Hark film.
it's got 'not quite' as much brutality as Gibson's The Passion.
It's got 'not quite' versions of Sean Connery, Tyrese Gibson, Brad Pitt and Jet Li.
But ya know, I think this is a pretty good show. It's a weird mix of classic Biblical storytelling, with a fitting narration from Keith David and some damn decent SFX and action thrown in.
I just finished the first episode on Netflix. That slo-mo 'Sodom' beatdown with 'not quite' Tyrese and 'not quite' Jet as God's personal Angels of Death was eye-bleedingly fun . I enjoyed that as much as anything of recent times.
Cool show, will continue.
Gotta return some videotapes
