Haven't read book, only trailer. My thoughts...

The film looks interested. Mix of romance and thriller.
She mentions twice that she was 17. When she lost her virginity and when her mother disappeared. 17. Twice. Like some importance. Eva Green is 34. Shailene Woodley is 22, but playing a 17 year old. If Eva Green's character is the same age as her, she would have been 17 when she had Woodley's character.
Was this a mistake in her life? Did she not want children so soon? Were he dreams ruined? Is she afraid her own 17 year old daughter has made the same mistake? And if she is pregnant will loose her dreams at that age, as it is a bit rushed into it? Or did she simply want her daughter to be pure? And is disgusted at this change?

Let me know what you think of my thoughts. Remember that I have not read the book, and only seen trailer. So my thoughts on Eva Green playing a mother with a 17 year old daughter. It made me think it was deliberate in some way. Hence my ideas above.

That all sounds plausible. Especially the part about having a child so young. I think she was too overwhelmed & truly disappointed with her life & just checked out one day & walked away from it all. But then that's probably not suspenseful enough for a movie! Just heard of this but am now looking forward to seeing it.

Okay... but what the hell is in the freezer then???? I don't think it would be that obvious for the body to be in the freezer, but seriously... what is in that thing?! I've also never read the book... or have even heard of it. Shailene is getting popular lol

I've read the book, but I won't spoil anything unless asked...

In the book, Eve Conners (Eva Green) is in her 40s. She met Kat's dad (Christopher Meloni) after she already graduated from college and didn't have Kat until her mid/late 20s

As for the freezer, it doesn't make sense in the trailer. They explain it in the book, but the trailer doesn't seem to stay true to it.
