just watched it, and the ending is WTF (SPOILER)

SPOILER ALERT
i'm here to spoil the ending of the movie

so, i just watched it and the ending is really weird. so kat was trying to find her mom in a freezer, but suddenly her father came and ask her about what is she doing, she didn't reply, but she asked "Dad, do u know where mom is? Phil said that u do." and her dad said he didn't know, and he told kat to clean up the mess. after that, Kat's dad took her to the airport, then she explains that a week after she left, her father went to a bar and was drunk. and confesses that he killed Eve (kat's mom) and he commited suicide in jail. then, it shows the flashback, where her mom just came home and heard a moaning, and more. after that, she checked her bedroom and saw Kat's dad IS SLEEPING WITH Phil, then. phil ran and Eve was laughing at kat's dad. over and over. and Kat's dad told her to stop by strangling her. but she kept laughing and suddenly she stopped breathing, and kat's dad realized that he killed her and he was crying and hugging Eve. after that, kat also explains that eve's body was actually in freezer. and her dad moved Eve's body when she was asleep. and burried her in the mountain, since eve's body was frozen for so long. it decomposed very fast, so when the police trying to find her body, they found nothing. then kat attended eve's funeral.

Did Kat know about her dad and Phil being caught by her mom and that's why she was murdered, or is it just the audience?

reply

I was under the impression that she did not know, but I don't think it was ever explicitly said.

I thought the ending was a little iffy. Suddenly, the father is in bed with her boyfriend...huh? I'm all for surprise endings, but that was seemed to be just tacked on.... and the father strangling the mother for that. I liked the rest of the movie though...just a little underwhelmed by the ending. And, it wasn't a shocker that it was the dad...that's what you expected from the trailer...the actors were saying wait for this shock ending and we never got it.

Felt kinda forced but they managed 2 surprise. However, a movie wid such only intent is not quite good and very hacky

Werd 2 ur mudda, bruddafckka

So how did the dad pas the lie detector test if he murdered his wife. I know you can beat the test but i doubt he could hes not a spy

reply

A polygraph test is only 60% accurate so it is possible to pass while not telling the truth (that's why it isn't viable in court anymore)

And speaking of the end! The movie wasn't amazing until the end where most of the pieces fit together. Most of you are saying the idea of the dad and Phil ending up together was forced but think about it. from Brock's sex life with eve which was nonexistent to being the "ladies man" in the office (he was calm with all the ladies in the office not trying to pull anything and easily friendly with all of them) to not wanting May to sleep over even though there was no reason, almost wanting Kat to give him a reason to let May go.

Eva Green and Chris Meloni made it with that last scene! Eve only expecting the worse from him and finding out this is the reason for all his behavior just made it all more clear what a joke her whole marriage was and wanted to throw it in his face laughing, bat sh*t crazy, at how ridiculous he is and how she was right that he is a "failure" and Brock just snapped wanted her to shut up for all the times she never cut him some slack and now in the moment he felt most vulnerable and exposed she was making him feel as worse as she possibly could so he just asked her to stop until she did, breathing and all.
