Good and depressing movie similar to Twin Peaks

The acting, the sets, the atmosphere, the soundtrack and everything else in White Bird is good, it's a movie that is well made in every aspect even though it's not perfection.

I think the director wanted to create a 80's vibe associated with sadness and melancholy and he did that very well. It's obviously some kind of tribute to Twin Peaks, a lot of things made me think to it anyway, starting with the plot (disappearance) but also everything that creates the atmosphere, even the way it looked (even though I'm no expert). There was also Sheryl Lee in a minor role I don't think it's a coincidence... Anyway I felt so depressed while watching this it's a good job and I recommend it if you like Twin Peaks or sad poetic stuff like that.

I saw no similarity with Twin Peaks, with its magical realism. The connection you've made seems far fetched to me. There are lots of movies whose action takes place during the 80's, and there have to be a number of them that have sad or melancholy themes. Also (although this is entirely subjective) I didn't fell depressed at all while watching this, only slightly bored.
