Laura Kasischke

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the author of the book, Laura Kasischke, was unhappy with the film version? I'm asking because usually when a book is adapted into a film, generally an author or publishing house takes full advantage of it and uses it as an opportunity to promote the book via social media, print more copies/do reprints, do interviews, marketing, and so on... Yet I noticed none of that in conjunction with the release of this film. To my knowledge, the book was even out of print at the time of the film's release (don't know if it still is or not... I'm talking about the physical edition). It just seems very strange. Even on the author's website, there is just the tiniest little mention of the film/ blink and you'll miss it. Almost as if the author is trying to hide it or something. Again, it just seems strange.
