Better than I thought it was going to be.
After the first few episodes I thought it was basically a very light comedy piece with the Catherine the Great element as just something to hang it on. But the more it went on the more interesting it became and the more substance it had.
And in amongst it were some very good performances too. Elle Fanning may not be as consistent as her sister Dakota but she can equal her when it comes to hitting the high notes.
