No spoilers as am still making my way through :)

But, if you someone recalls this episode, Hiatus, Art and his dutiful sidekick Angie question Fee at his home about IDing Sarah's body. In the hallway of the building, on the way out, Art tells Angie he's been there before and calls Fee on his mobile. We hear Fee's phone ring. Art’s calling him from when Fee rang Art while Sarah was in Neolution retrieving Paul.

How on earth did Art piece that together? Just from Fee's "punk" accent? And when on earth had he been in that building before?

It has been a while and my memory is fading but...was it maybe when Art was spying on Sarah and he snatched "Beth's" (really Alison's) money away from Sarah? Maybe that happened outside at Felix's.

Or maybe there was a time when Art asked Felix about Felix's art. I recall there were pictures of Alison and Cosima, and Felix told Art it was the Many Faces of Beth, or something.

I at least USED to know the answer to this question.

Art had followed Sarah to Felix's building after she leaves the bank with the money in the very first episode. Then he meets Felix shortly after hearing his voice on the phone. He's a detective, it's not that difficult for him to put two and two together.

Yup- this. Added to the ringing phone when he did the call back and voila.

"This organism and derivative genetic material is restricted intellectual property."

And he still had that number in his phone b/c it was just the night before that Fe had originally called him. He put 2 and 2 together, had the phone # handy and called it to verify it.
He did not go into Fe's loft until that scene. He had just followed Sarah as Beth after she took the money from the bank, he absconded with the money and replaced it with the case file.
