Why did Evie Cho HAD TO do what she did?

On season 4, ep6 - The Scandal of Altruism - the writers built a complex plot that ended up causing the death of Kendall, the original by the hands of Evie Cho. I get it that Cho's designed this master plan and now she is trying to execute it (however, the clones somehow pose an "obstacle"). Why is she going to the extents of eliminating any possibility of a cure for Cosima and any other ill clone? What's in it for her?

It is not clear to me that you have finished season four, and I hope I don't spoil anything for you. Everything that Evie Cho does in season four appears to be a power play to siphon power away from Susan Duncan. Why the bigwigs above Susan and Evie put up with Evie's nonsense is a mystery to me. Perhaps that will be better explained in season five.
