And... they got fired right after they got hired
F'n around openly with co-workers and drinking on campus = fired right after they got hired.
Dumbasses.

It's fiction...
"Say, do you hear that? It's the sound of the Reaper..."
1. it's a comedy
2. fictional
Good thing you didn't write the movie.
Not only that, but it's hard to imagine what jobs they would be offered, except sales and maybe (a big maybe) very basic customer support.
In fact I think that's where the movie falls flat on its face. Regardless of your attitude, drive, charm and ability to BS others, there's a point beyond which you can't even survive unless you have the actual tech know-how.
A huge company like Google would have them rotate around its divisions to find them a good fit. The movie isn't written brilliantly, but figuring out where they would work isn't where it "falls flat"; the plot didn't revolve around what happens to them afterwards.
Google certainly would need much more than tech geeks; they need people in HR, marketing, sales, accounting etc
Winners don't make excuses when the other side plays the game.
Lyle (the guy who lead the protagonists team) also works for a company called Hooli (watch Silicon Valley to see his story there) and Hooli pays him to pretty much do nothing.
shareI didn't quite get the ending: they said their goodbyes and wished each other to have a great senior year. Ok...? So this was just a summer thing, some of them go back to school, and the old guys become unemployed (remember: they faked going to school)? Then when school is finished, they meet up again at Google's?

is this because they really don't know c++ (or c+)...

Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!
Managers. It's exactly because of their motivation that the team comes together and ends up winning. I guess that means you don't have much imagination.

I think the'll be assigned in HR and be motivational speakers to new hires.
shareThat would probably be a good fit. HR personnel need to be able to interact with people and lets be honest, tech guys can't always do that. As someone else said, in a company as big as google, there is a job for anyone.
