Strip Club Scene

I found it to be unnecessarily gratuitous and a cheap ploy to reel in young horny male viewers that come out in droves for the boobage. if they needed a bonding and coming-out-of-their-shell experience they could have done it in a different setting. The T & A display and the nasty lap dances and consequent crotch drying sessions in the men's room were just cheap and made it a much more crude gross-out/dirty soft-core porn type of comedy then it needed to be. it really didn't gel with the rest of the feel of the movie. i was disappointed in the choice to include the whole strip club plot line.

All I noticed is this strip club is the same one from bad boys. And there was no soft core porn in the scene. What they showed was no different then the many movies that showed girls at college parties.

Edit so I guess there's an unrated version I didn't see.

Has anyone in this family ever even seen a chicken?

reply

LOL, was THAT what they were doing in the men's room?

I need to get out more.

Get me a bromide! And put some gin in it!

The whole scene didn't fit in a a PG-13 movie. This is not a film you're going to watch on DVD with your teen kids. That scene would be really awkward. I noticed Vaughn got a writing credit, and actors always get in trouble when they start thinking they are writers. Lame jokes, pole dances, and the stupid Charles Xavier bit do not a funny comedy make.

This is where it jumped the shark for me as well.
I rented it through Redbox for 22 cents. I assume it is the PG-13 version.
I don't remember seeing any nudity unless some of the people in the background at the club were.

The part that bugged me was that one kid who said it was the best night of his life. Really? Getting drunk and going to a strip club? That's the best night of your life? Don't aim too high, do you?

reply

I didn't see anything wrong with that, the kid obviously didn't have any friends at home or anything, so this was the first night he spent out with friends and had a good time.

reply

Yeah, made complete sense to me as well.

reply

You missed the point of the scene and the character, dumbass. He spent his days looking at his phone
