The fight scenes are 10/10 but the rest of the movie is disjointed

Why waste 15 minutes on that stupid fake fight thing with the toupee guy?

Also, the gambling scenes, unnecessary and boring. Just padding.

The fight scenes were exciting but the rest of the movie was uneven. Loads of time wasted.

totally agree with you. the gambling scene for instance, unnervingly boring...

My friend and I looked at each other in the cinema at that part and said 'What the *beep* is this movie?'

Literally a 20 minute game of black jack put to the big screen for zero plot points or character development.

The opening scene, and the gambling scene were setting up his character - who he is. As he later says to the kid (Cyrus/Michael Angarano) towards the end of the movie, "If I would have won the full million I would have found some reason to go for more. I'm a trapped compulsive."

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.

Really needed 25 minutes of blackjack to set up that one line.

haha well said. I do agree with the OP though that the action was well done but the rest of the film was just horrible in every sense of the word.
