If only Taken 3 would have been directed like this.

This movie blew Taken 3 out of the water in every way.

If Taken 3 would have only looked as crisp and been shot as well it would have been a much better film even as ridiculous as the plot was.
Simon West knows how to shoot action you can actually follow.

Taken 3 was awful.

I agree with OP. This film deserves a higher rating the fight scenes were some of the best I've seen!

reply

Taken 3 was awesome. This movie was just awful. Only thing good was the fight scenes.

reply

Seriously? Fight scenes were lame as it gets. I can't stand this slow motion *beep* What's so cool about it? Looks so fake, I can't watch this. You have Statham who is a really tough guy and you shoot his fight scenes in slow motion? Jesus. Simon West did it right in 'Expendables 2' but 'Wild Card' sucks big time.

reply

ans there is your reason. You dislike things because of slow motion. Whats so cool about it you say. It's jason statham kicking a$$. Why else would anyone watch a crappy confused movie which can't decide if it's drama or action.

reply

I really don't get your response. Movie sucked imo this is one thing. But those fight scenes sucked even more. I'm asking again, what's so cool about fight scene shot in slow motion? Jason Statham kicking ass is a great thing to watch but let's be honest. Producers cast him because he is ultimate tough guy and can do his own stunts and he knows how tu punch and kick. He doesn't need super fast editing or slow motion to make it believable. So why in the world they would shoot his fight scenes in slow motion? That's hardly a fight scene and it's usually used when actor is not capable of doing fighting stuff but Jason is EXTREMELY capable of that.

reply

it's a bloody movie editing technique...didn't you see they edited the fight with the music. You just don't get art do you? Please stop complaining about dumb things that you don't understand.

you dumb retard....you don't shoot in slow motion. You slow it down with programs. You must be one dumb guy. You belong in a mental hospital. Take your meds you piece of crap. There are so many retards like you on the internet just trolling and hating on things because they don't bloody understand what is going on in the film. You need help....

reply

Have you ever had a movie camera in your hands you retard? Obviously not. Slow it down with programs. You dumb piece of crap, you just made me laugh so hard. Get some knowledge before you spit your thoughts little turd. Movie cameras don't work the way your cel phone camera does, idiot. If you want to shoot in slow motion mode, you shoot in slow motion mode.

reply

You must be stupid. You made me laugh because you think you know what the *beep* they did. Yes i do have knowledge you a_sshole. I do motion graphics and visual design and effects for a living. I make short films. I understand you can shoot with slow motion and they probably did that but they also normalized it down a little bit with programs to match with the cgi. I was trying to make a point and yet you still didn't get it. Must be real retard... Go watch the scenes properly. You must have s_hit for a brain, go back to school you f_ukin moron. You wasting your time arguing about a crap movie that either way no one gives two s_hit about.

reply

Stop humilating yourself. I do work with movie cameras all the time and all I said was that they shot this stuff in slow motion which now all of sudden you agreed with. Yeah, I think I know what they did, unless they wanted to be morons like you and do it all in post-production while they had a cameras which can shoot pefect slow motion like Red Epic and do it on set. What point have you tried to make? That this movie is art? That you can't shoot in slow motion? All your points failed. No go back to your motion graphics and visual design effects. I'm done talking about this *beep* movie.

reply

You are the one that is humiliating himself. I showed your comment to some people and they are laughing like hell. You are one dumb c_unt. Suck my bacon flavoured balls you dumb paki. There is no point reading your comments anymore....you one idiotic living being. Have fun eating sh_it

Actually you don't SHOOT in slow motion....you shoot in high frame rates, then slow them down later.

If you slow down 24fps it looks terrible. You need to shoot AT LEAST in 30fps to slow footage down but 60 is even better. Any higher than 60 just gets better and better.

You do shoot in slow motion on high end cameras and you don't have to do it in post was all I was saying. I did it MANY Times. Not sure what cameras you have in mind but I can speak for RED EPIC, RED ONE and RED Scarlet. Most DP's I talked with say the only real advantage EPIC has on others in this series is that they shoot great in slow motion mode.

They aren't getting your point. They think you're just dissing for dissing's sake.

If only there were 2 versions to compare, one being the one we have and another shot more realistically, with exact same fight. And show how Matt Daemon fights look like in behind the scenes footage, without all the edits Then, these people would get it.

reply

I agree with you 100%.

Stylish edits is used to cover up incompetence of actors being believable in action. And Statham is more than capable of pulling off great action.

Seeing the action in real time with little stylish edits would have been far, far more impressive because we'll get to see how fast he really is.

alesisqs61...It wasnt thanks to Simon West that the few action scenes in this was great...Simon West is a worthless director and have never ever made anything good or anything to remember...the thanks goes to the fighting choreography specialist Cory Yuen...he is the one to thank that those few action scenes will be rememberd as some of the best in any action movie.

~If the realistic details fails, the movie fails~
