I don't think the movie was quite clear on it's location. Quite odd. Don seemed to have been lazy when he was making this movie to not include info like that.

No one was bitching you old hag. I just made a simple comment so you can calm your ass down there and eat a damn snicker bar while you're acting like I was bitching here. SIT DOWN. And while a location setting may not be important, it IS nice to know WHERE the setting is. All the other movies gave out that info so I don't see why this movie couldn't do the same. Besides, these are people Chucky knew who once lived in Chicago so it would be nice to know where they're located to and how far they had to go to get away from the hell Chucky had put upon the family.

Rhode Island has to be the answer for a few reasons.

1.) They say Charles was a neighbor back in Chicago, meaning they are not in Chicago.
2.) The plates do in fact say Rhode Island.
3.) The movies was shot in Canada. Why would they change plates to Rhode Island instead of Illinois? Answer: The movie takes place in Rhode Island.

Thanks for clearing it up. So 1 and 2 take place in Illinois. Supposedly 3 in Michigan. 4 in Illinois through Niagara falls into new jersey. 5 in Hollywood then 6 in Rhode island. Cool

Actually:

1. Chicago, IL (Metropolitan area, all of film)
2. Chicago, IL (Downtown, beginning and end), (Suburbs, middle of film)
3. Chicago, IL (Beginning), Missouri (Rest of film)
4. North Carolina (Beginning), New Jersey (Towards the end)
5. Los Angelas, California (All of film)
6. Rhode Island (All of film)

The settings keep getting more and more sparse. The series started out in Chicago and then went to Missouri (Unconfirmed), North Carolina (Also unconfirmed), New Jersey, Hollywood, and then possibly Rhode Island. Maybe the next film will be set in Maine and maybe Stephen King will have a cameo appearance, LOL! All we know is that it's either rumored to be set on a train or in the asylum that Nica was taken to. They should have maybe only the first 15-20 minutes of it take place on a train and then the rest of it in the asylum with Chucky trying to kill Nica.

Interesting. Where did you get North Carolina from? For them to travel by Niagara Falls en route to New Jersey, I would assume they'd be coming from upper state New York.
