Where the hell did that rumor come from about the carnival from CP3?

Before this film came out, someone said the first scene took place at the carnival from the 3rd film, the day after Chucky's demise and then it skips 15 years later to Nica's house where she receives the doll. I actually hope they open the 7th one with the carnival from CP3 and then fast forward 15 years later to the part where Andy is about to shoot Chucky and then Chucky comes back to life and kills him, but it only turns out to be a bad dream that Andy had and he startles his son/daughter. I think his kid will be named Cody/Cindy if he has one. I really hope Andy has a kid in the next one. I don't think he'll have a wife. He originally only had a single mother.

It wasn't a rumor. A lot of people just speculated it would ignore Bride and Seed which this would pick up from the carnival.

Why would it pick up from the carnival? CP2 didn't pick up at the apartment from the first one. Although I did hear a rumor that someone found an alternate opening on one of the UK VHS rental tapes, but they might've been dreaming it. So far, CP3 is the only sequel to have an opening scene from the same place where the last film ended. I would really like to see that lost opening of CP2 if it exists.
