Normal for a man to REFRAIN from watching porn?
What if he's not religious, used to watch a little porn now and then, decided he didn't like it and stopped watching it altogether?
Would you consider that "normal"? Yes or no?

I have yet to encounter a man who has decided he doesn't like any porn.

I have.
But back to my question.
Can you think of any "legitimate" reasons (whatever you consider those to be) for a man not to like porn?
Same question regarding women. Can you think of any "legitimate" reasons for a woman not to like porn?
What are you trying to get to? What is a "legitimate" reason? And what is not? Any reason given by the person in question would be considered legitimate to that person right? Or is there a universal form of "legitimacy"?
shareThey don't like watching people have sex. Some people don't, it's not abnormal or anything.
sharea simple reason would be a man who finds it so demeaning to women that he gets turned off. it's similar to why most men cannot watch kiddie porn, or why some men find BDSM porn "too much".
put another way, probably men who are more aware of their feelings would be more likely to dislike porn. that is also part of the central theme of the film: that sex addiction leads people to become unable to feel for another person. the detachment makes sex (among other human interactions) unreal and disappointing.
of course, this is not meant to slam erotica in any way. being able to discuss sex openly really helps to improve a relationship, and porn can feature in such discussions just as much as sex toys. just like BDSM practitioners place maximum emphasis on mutual consent, the same could be expected of partners sharing their sex lives.

Two girls, one board and we're on the typical bandwagon again. A study done by Pornhub shows that MORE than 50% of their viewers are actually women..... look it up.
shareThat doesn't surprise me. A lot of women watch porn. I watch porn, but I only really watch it once a month, if that. It's worth noting that the type of porn men and women watch and respond to tends to differ, as well.

There's nothing wrong with porn, or watching it. I just get tired of the whole "all men watch porn and women don't" which seems to dominate in our society. Sure, women and men enjoy different forms of porn, that's understandable. But porn is porn.

Some women like to watch gay male porn.
http://outfrontonline.com/lifestyle-2/relationships-sexuality/sexualit y-why-do-some-straight-women-and-lesbians-watch-gay-porn/
Also for some women what turns them on can be different from what they wished turned them on. Meaning their sexual desire may not follow some "politically correct" way of how they should feel.
The results of their study found that ... women ... who do (watch porn) are not watching female-friendly porn but rather the same mainstream, male-targeted, hardcore sites that men view.
I myself enjoy gay porn (male/male or female/female). If I watch straight porn, I prefer watching what some would consider 'feminist porn'. Overall, though, I would much rather read porn as opposed to watching it. I don't buy erotic novels, I just read stuff online, usually gay fanfiction between two male characters I enjoy. It's so easy to find whatever it is you're looking for.

Why are you interested in male to male porn as a female if I may ask?
shareIf you want a simple answer, I just find it pretty hot. If you want me to go deeper than that, I'd say it probably has to do with the fact that I am not a man, and it's a form of sexuality that I will never experience in my life so I'm interested in observing it. Why do some men enjoy watching lesbian porn?

* Jennifer Lawrence explained in a recent interview that she believed she had to take naked pictures of herself or her boyfriend might look at porn. So, she made her own porn.
* So, what is the problem over porn?
It's about control. Controlling the partner's mind about what they can see because of some fear about sexuality.
And what about the world of online cam sites?
Why is it girls of all ages are turned off immediately if they encounter a naked male on the other side of cam, but if they encounter a naked masterbating female, they will strip off and parade themselves to the other female and copy, and emulate what the other female is doing?
Why would they want to parade themselves (flashing, showing, stripping) and wank off to another female and not to the males instead?
There also seems to be a hidden female trait of exhibitionism that seems to get a lot of females off on these sites. i.e males are more inclined to voyeurism while females are more inclined to exhibitionism, but which is looked down on more and punished more by mainstream media/society?
I'll tell you. This is a gynocentric world. Look at the difference between our culture and the Greeks or Romans. You can't deny that women's beauty is celebrated far more than men or male sexuality. BUT, in Greek and Roman times, even the art reflects that the male form was the most coveted. The numbers of lesbians today versus gay men in Greek and Roman days says a lot too.
I want men to be loved and appreciated sexually more but I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.
That's Pornhub. That's one site. That doesn't account for most porn site and video subscribers being most definitely male.
And it's not a bad thing. That's male sexuality for you.
There was no porn before the invention of film. So, yeah, there are a lot of men who can do without porn. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
shareLook up the history of porn, Flick, it's been around about the same amount of time as we've been around, even if it didn't always look the way it does today. Even if we were just scratching crude stick figures boning on cave walls, it was still porn.
shareWTF are you talking about? Don't be stupid. There have been all kinds of pornography created by mankind dating back to the time we were painting on walls.
shareThere was no porn before the invention of film.
Right here.

Absolutely normal.
Check this out:

Mind is sexier than you think,in moderation everything is normal.
shareI don't think a person can decide whether they like porn or not. If someone stops watching porn, it has to do with something other than "not liking it" all of a sudden unless they just grew out of that certain form of getting their rocks off. I had no idea that a large percentage of females were into male gay porn. What I do find interesting is the shifts in taste.
shareI'm trying to stop. I usually just watch it to get off and I find that it takes me forever to get off when I'm with a girl now.
Been single for a while and you get used to the feel of your hand(or a hand in general I guess) and it's tough to get off from anything else.

I used to have the same problem. You just can't be so rough with yourself and try doing it less often.

very normal to not watch porn
just like some people may have tried crack and liked it but they know its gonna *beep* them up and the people around them so they choose not to use it
Are you asking if it's normal for someone to not like porn? Yes, it is absolutely normal. The same goes for vice versa. Not everybody likes porn, but some people do and there's nothing wrong with that.
shareI don't care what ugly, insecure feminist women will tell you. Porn is perfectly natural for men or women to enjoy. Since male sexuality is more dependent (I said, MORE dependent) on visual stimuli, a man will flock to porn like a duck in winter more than a woman. That is not a bad thing. Insecure, lazy women want to make it out to be a bad thing. They don't want the responsibility or the labor of having to work to be attractive. No one is telling these fat women that being fat is unhealthy and that's why men aren't attracted to them. We want a healthy partner for our seed, no differently than a woman needs to know that the seed being planted in her has good genes. It all comes down to a biological imperative. But, feminists will have you believe that what is natural and biological is actually a social construct and whatever rules they come up with is not a social construct. LOL.
Not watching porn and using your imagination to masturbate is also very natural and in some ways, a lot healthier. But, men have to have a release at some point. So, masturbating is totally cool. What you use to get you turn on is a different story.
that 50% of all porn watchers are women, is a skewed figure. becasue 50% of all women on the internet are dudes.
respiratory enlightenment -> ****ing vigorously
Funny enough that the porn user has such disgusting things to say about women. Of course if a girl doesn't like porn she is an ugly , fat feminist. RIIIGHT. You know Rashida Jones is very ANTI porn right? You know lots of MEN are too? Don't insult people just because they don't have the same interests as you do.
shareand Joseph Gordon Levitt has also made many anti porn comments. Yeah, an attractive young male in Hollywood. Who else? Oh yeah super ripped athlete Terry Crews said it almost destroyed his marriage until he quit. Hmm? I guess that poor guys wife is just a fat feminist bitch though.
sharewhat a dumb post smh
shareI'd consider it healthy but that's coming from my own experience. I often wonder how much harder it must be for teenagers to grow up now with gonzo net porn on tap 24/7; I'm sure glad I missed that by a few years otherwise who knows how it would've wired my growing brain. I still caught scrambled stuff and magazines though and that was probably more than enough for an extra absorbent sponge like me. The sh*t is physically addictive beyond the question of how it portrays human beings (men AND women), its easy to pick up a habit with the ADD conveyor belt footage they roll out now. I see extreme horror stuff as a flip-side to this videodrome coin, where the emphasis is on how REAL you can make it, how graphic and debased the scenarios and the meat puppets you hire to enact them. When Esther gave Jon her blue movie I understood immediately because it really is like day and night with softer vintage material and the viral e-heroin called porno now; eroticism & reductionism. Double-edged sword much?
