Transphobic?

The killer ghost is a boy forced to be a girl by his mother... he dresses as a woman. I've seen some question whether movies like Sleepaway Camp (1983) would get made today and whether it's 'transphobic'.

I rewatched this last night for the first time in years ahead of Insidious: The Red Door. I found the whole Sleepaway Camp backstory surprising (I did remember the ghost was a man who dressed as a woman but forget the scene which shows his mother forcing him to be a girl).

I could see how some lefties would consider this problematic. I mean I guess 2013 was just before the whole trans rights thing started gaining traction.

For the record I don't give a shit about trannies and I love Sleepaway Camp and Insidious: Chapter 2, I'm just playing devils advocate here.
