LOL I thought the exact same thing. I started laughing and thought to myself he said she was behind you, not downstairs! As for the fingerprints I have no idea, think that was maybe the writers way of tying up the police/law investigation side of the storyline...

That's because Dalton was asleep, it's the only way he could be in the spirit world and be able to see that said ghost was behind her, so she could easily wander and play detective.
As for the fingerprints they don't match josh's because they obviously would of matched "the bride in black" aka Parker.
