What did Elise see?

At the end of the movie that scared her so much? Was it the red demon from the first movie?

reply

The movies wiki page says she saw the Red faced demon from the first movie.

reply

You can hear the bone crinkling noise before she looks up, which is the same noise that came before Lipstick Face in Insidious 1.

reply

thanks, didn't remember that noise from first movie, or I couldn't connect the dots, so to speak. Makes sense

reply

lipstick face?

i've got feelings too, ya know

reply

That's his name...did you not see the first film?

reply

Most people prefer to call him Darth Maul.

This. LOL 

I think it's safe to assume that it was anything but the red demon from 1, unless there are multiples of that demon or he survived the events of one and Elise and Crew stumbled onto the next soul he was after. That sounds pretty implausible though. The ending clearly took place after the events of insidious 1&2, as Elise was dead, so I very much doubt it was the red demon despite the same audio effect playing during that scene.

reply

Why do you say that? The lip-stick demon didn't die on the first movie. He just didn't get what he wanted (the physical body), because the boy was faster.

reply

That was the first thing I thought during the end, red demon again

The script for Chapter 3!

Elise probably saw the demon or evil spirit that was possessing Allison.

Yup, had to be Darth Maul again, that crazy creepy bastard will be back in the third.

Hahaha, didn't notice the bone crinkling noise.....nice touch

Assume nothing; Question everything

reply

I know that Elise saw something horrifying.

reply

I thought it sounded like rolling dice... Maybe the psychic guy didnt make it back to his body?

reply

you see him talk to Josh and Dalton in the scene before Elise sees the demon :P

reply

That doesn't mean it wasn't him. Parker's mom could have come back in Carl's body and then were Elise sees the real Carl she realizes that he didn't ever come back.

reply

Except Parker's mom was destroyed by Elise in The Further

reply

I thought the same thing.

reply

That would be a cool twist then actually. Will have to re-watch the ending now and see what I think, but I will admit my auditory memory immediately referenced the red faced demon.

reply

it's 100% the red faced demon ie darth maul, same sounds associated with him from the first movie....and she says "oh...my...god" the exact same way dalton did near the end of the first movie when he noticed the demon was watching him/them (dalton's dad breaking him free). he'll make a comeback in the third movie for sure. well, as sure as a guess can be i suppose lol.

"...Hey, at least now we know when the next train was due"

reply

Haha, I hope not.. i couldn't imagine chapter 3 to be as good as the previous two..

reply

It was blatantly the sound the that red faced demon from the first movie made.... I will never forget it!

If it was the sound of the dice why would her reaction be like that? Doesnt make sense....

reply

[deleted]

It was that red faced demon. When she saw it in the first movie she was also very horrified.

reply

It would make sense because that would mean someone else is in the dice rollers body. *facepalm*

reply

nooooooo I hope you're wrong but it makes sense that's prob where they're going with the next movie. damn *facepalm*
I liked the red demon/lipstick demon guy, I wouldn't mind if they brought him back. Just please not the dice guy

reply

Maybe the red demon might play a larger role in the third film.

reply

My guess it was something way more badass than the saw doll mask demon. But it's okay if it was that same demon, wanna see that one being fried.

reply

Not really sure what she saw, but it definitely has to do with Insidious 3!! Like it's there way of saying there will be a 3rd chapter, and we have to wait for that one to see what she saw!!

reply

if you guys remember the first part then 3 things would imply its the lipstick demon :

1 the crackling sound (which the demon makes)

2 that sound is like something scrathcing/tapping a hard surface(with claws). there were many scratches in the first one( on Daltons bed i think)

3 and mainly i think coz she looked at the corner of the ceiling and got freaked out (in the first chapter she comes to daltons room and tells her skinny assistant to draw a picture;which shows the lipstick demon likes to hang out in the corner of the ceiling)

I saw it long back so might be mistaken

There's also the eerie music and someone singing that plays when we see him working on something, in the first movie. There was no music here!

reply

That's because in the first film we see the red demon in his study, working quietly at his projects. So it makes sense that he's playing a piece of his favourite music while he's in his den

At the end of Insidious 2 it is the red demon and he's out, so we don't hear music cause he doesn't own headphones, only the record player in his study

Lol... But I don't think its the red demon again! No movie franchise would bring back their bad guy from the first movie again in another sequel!!!

"No movie franchise would bring back their bad guy from the first movie again in another sequel!!!"

...except for all of those movies that brought back their bad guy from the first movie again in another sequel, right?

reply

Except that in 'those' movies the bad guy doesn't die in the first movie!!!

reply

The red faced demon DIDN'T die in the first movie though. Dalton escaped and got back to his body, but the red faced demon wasn't killed or anything. He just didn't get to take over Dalton's body.

Are we talking about the same movie? When did he die in the 1st movie? How can a soul in the "Further" dies anyway? Assuming there is "Further" that rents places to souls

Actually it's a rule of trilogies to go back to the origins for Chapter 3

If Insidious is set up as a trilogy - which it might be - then the red demon makes total sense

It's the way to wrap it up

No .. You must have not heard all the voices in that scene. There was music playing very low which implied that red demon had headphones connected "wirelessly" with his music station at home

He may have upgraded to an ipod touch by now. And by the time part three comes out, he could have traded in for an android. If I had one recommendation for his lair, however, I would probably go with a Roku.

Also, if he takes over someone else's body, does the person he displaces get to keep the demon's living quarters? Can they pretty much redecorate how they want, or do they just have to keep still in the shackles?
