So basically he could have picked Jennings at #7, then waited for Mack to fall to about #15 or so and traded the two 2nd rounders, and snagged Mack. Same result but no movie I guess.
shareThe GM should have been fired. He traded up to get a guy he decided not to pick, then drafted someone he could have waited to get (and hence paid him less, starting salaries depend on how early you're drafted.) So he cost his team draft picks and cash.
Not to mention dating a subordinate employee, something that should be prohibited at any company, since it opens the executive up to charges of favoritisim, and exposes the company to potential harassment lawsuits later.
