One Part That Made No Sense To Me...

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and maybe I'm missing something, but one thing seemed to make no sense. Okay, Chadwick Boseman's character is disgraced because he handed a game ball over to someone in the crowd, and Kevin Costner has to point out to his recruiters in the office that this person is Boseman's character's sick sister who died 6 months later. How did these people NOT know that was his sister??- with social media, the paparazzi, national news, etc...??

This movie is for people who don't know much about the draft process. Most gm's are ready for the draft and know who they want in jan (Kevin colbert quote).

And the qb doing 250lbs 25x? Doubtful.

reply

I suspected that; myself, not being a sports fan- I was clueless! LOL

I dont get why its a CRIME to give away the game ball. Back in the hay-day it was the norm. Maybe I can google why this has changed, but why?? I think it's nice and sweet.

And the NFL can afford it! LOL

That was in college though. There would have been no flag in the NFL IMO. It's debatable if there would have been a flag in college either. So much of this movie was nonsense, it bordered on being a comedy.

Yeah well, I don't follow football, and even I rolled my eyes at this movie. As far as the Draft went, I looked up the few players I knew who won anything and none of them were #1. As a Wolverine I had to check Tom Brady, because he is the only QB I knew before he was famous, and he is/was the most sucessful lately, so discovering that he was #199 tells me that the first round pick is not indicative of success. Moreover, didn't Seattle win the Super Bowl the year this movie came out? I have a hard time believing they'd compete with Cleaveland for players.

In the NFL this would be a fine, no flag.

???????????????????🐙

Giving the ball to a fan or throwing it into the stands is not a foul (no flag is thrown) but the player is fined by the league.

Apparently he gave the ref some grief, so that was the real issue.

Yeah actually touched the ref. That's why he was ejected.
