The Trades

I missed part of the beginning and watched it in parts over the course of a week, so I want to make sure I have the trades right.

Sonny started off with the 7th overall pick. Seattle had the first overall. Sonny traded the 7th and the next two first-rounders for the first pick.

Then Sonny traded his second and the next two seconds for Jax's #6 pick.

Then he traded that #6 pick to Seattle for the 7th and the next two years' first-rounders.

So, essentially Sonny traded 3 second-round picks for Vontae Mack. Oh, and he also got a special teams guy.

Is that accurate?

That's not quite accurate.

Sonny picked linebacker Vontae Mack with the #1 pick, and running-back Ray Jennings with the #7.

So at the end of the day the Browns (Sonny) ended up with an impact player on defense, an impact player on offense, an impact player on special teams and retained a solid quarterback of good character that is coming into the season in the best physical shape of his career.

Sonny gets the defensive player he wanted, and holds onto the quarterback both he and the coach wanted. The coach also gets the running back he wanted. The owner just wanted Sonny to make a "splash" in the draft to drive up merchandise and ticket sales, so he's very happy with the outcome as well. It ends up a huge win for the entire Browns organization.

To sum it up, he essentially traded three 2nd rounders for the #6
