Not really three first round picks!

All they talk about in the film was how Sonny wasted "three years of first round picks" when the reality it was only two! They were still making a first round pick in 2014 just switching spots. Therefore it was only two years of first round picks, 2015 & 2016 that would cost him to move up had the most unrealistic trade in history with Jacksonville not happened.

Drive me nuts every time I see on TV and it seems like all HBO shows is this stinkin movie!

No. He spent the first pick of LB Vontae Mack. By saying that he 'wasted' three first round picks on him is implying that Mack is a waste of a pick.

The trade with Jacksonville is not unrealistic. In fact, Jacksonville could end up with the winner in this trade! At #6 overall, the pick is worth 1600 'points' (as listed at http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php ). Meanwhile, We can expect Cleveland this season to hold its natural pick, which we can only guess is #7 in the 2nd round unless we know they tied in record with another team. The 7th pick in the 2nd round is "worth" 510 points. That leaves 1,090 points on the board. If Cleveland plays poorly the next 2 seasons, Jacksonville could end up with a net gain among the points. Even if Cleveland, on the back of a healthy QB and Punt Returner and 2 elite rookies, plays much better, one would think they are still a year away from the playoffs. Few teams end up jumping from a 5 or 6 win season to the playoffs, let alone winning their conference. So, even if Cleveland is on a path to the title, Jacksonville still has 4 2nd rounders over the next 2 drafts, as well as 2 consecutive 2nd round picks in 'this' draft.

This movie trade is based on a real-life trade that my Washington Redskins made with the St. Louis Rams to draft QB Robert Griffin III. It's been strongly criticised in real life to this day!

To me, though, a real life NFL GM WOULD NOT get his 1st round picks back after trading them away!
