Stan is a Bad Influence

Does anybody else think Stan is a terrible influence on kids? He is basically portrayed as being a bigoted racist. That episode with that cat based said that it is acceptable to be generally prejudice but to make exceptions for individuals. And the final message of the show is that Stan's bigoted beliefs are right after all.

I think you're reading too much into it.

"Weird is just a side effect of being awesome."

At first Stan hates all cats, then because he likes one cat he believes he should like all cats but then he realizes that he should judge cats as individuals. Therefore, as usual, Stan is a role model.

The fact that the cat who he befriended turned on him at the end is not Stan's fault, nor is there any evidence that Stan ever embraced a generalized hatred of all cats after that episode. Since that time, Stan went on to teach the children many valuable life lessens.

The cat showed it's true colors when it proved it was an ass

You want to complain that Stan the Dog is bigoted against cats? It is indeed a stereotype that Dogs and Cat's don't get along (some do) but the fact is that Dog tend to chase cats. It's what they do.

Are you racist against chickens because you want to eat them?

Racism tends to be rooted in ignorance and the belief that someone is better than someone else SIMPLY because of their race when there is no evidence to support the notion. What you are talking about is speciesism and while many would have us eating tofu, so long as we pray to the tofu gods to ask forgiveness for killing another thing so we might survive, we happen to live on a planet where some species (predators) are in fact 'better than' others. Just be thankful sharks and bears never developed fire-arms and an opposable thumb.
