Question about Jonahs wife.

No, she didn't have cancer.

Jonah's wife just gave birth. The ex-girlfriend was there because her mother was dying/very ill (can't remember).

It would be insensitive for Jonah to reveal that he was at the hospital for a happy reason (the birth of a child) and not a depressing one, as the ex led herself to believe. She guessed and he didn't correct her.

Or he was thinking he didn't want her to think he was taken. Telling her that he may be about to become single might make her interested in him later on...so he just went along with her guess that his wife had cancer.

I figured so but it was weird when she asked if her hair had started falling out yet so it made me wonder if I had missed something. Like my first reaction at the hospital was ok he's just going to play this out but later I was actually questioning it that maybe she really did and it was part of why he was stressing. That would be a really big coincidence though.
