[Spoiler] Connor Julian should have demanded...

I can see why the CEO wanted to be the negotiator, but the 'expert' Julian should have refused to co-operate without an expert negotiator, detached from the situation, who wouldn't have lost his cool.

Julian came across as weak and not so professional to agree to the whims of the CEO.

But its not up to Connor. They hired him for advice, and even if he demanded they do what he say they don't have to. Its not like Connor is going to give up the money and start negotiations of his own.

In fact, it was Julian's buddy who bailed him out with that last minute tactic. In fact, the negotiations went fine. It was the pirate with the itchy trigger finger in the aftermath that messed things up.

I see the itchy trigger finger partly being a result of the negotiations having been unnecessarily dragged on for more than 4 months just to save a few bucks.

The CEO losing his cool was what brought the negotiations towards the end. It was just part of the cadence. It was highly effective, and showed everyone that people were nearing their ends.
