Does anyone have any info one when we'll expect to see series 4? I know it's been delayed because Sally Wainwright had her hands full with Happy Valley and the cast have been busy with various projects, but by the end of this year it will be two years since Series 3 aired.

The last update I heard was that Sally Wainright had written the script and it was more a case of getting everyone together to film it. The article I read alluded to them filming it this year to be broadcast the end of this year earliest/sometime in 2017.

I was wondering if anyone had anymore concrete information than that, or if anyone knows if they have started filming yet?

They're filming a 2-hour Christmas special in september :)

That's great! Where did you hear that? Do you know if they're still doing another series after that or are they going to end it at Christmas?

Oh several cast members have said so in interviews, Anne Reid, Nicola Walker, Derek Jacobi. There's no exact film date publicly known, but they're starting in september. No idea if it'll be the end.

It IS great news! Still no date for the Xmas special, but they HAVE filmed now....:)
