She's never mentioned again, not even by Sid, it's as if she never existed. Which is rather stupid! They could have just had a throwaway line in the 1st episode of S2 to explain her absence. Maybe saying she got a job in London or something similar.

It really bugged me too. I suspect either the actress who played Susie was unavailable, or the second season of Father Brown suffered a slight budget squeeze, meaning one of the regular cast had to be dropped and the producers decided Susie was expendable.
