The secret to why people go see Tyler Perry movies...
...is because there's funny. It's the same reason why people like Two And A Half, Family Guy, South Park, Ted, Paranormal Activity and why other people don't. People just have different taste in movies. Tyler Perry isn't making anyone watch his movies. Black people, white people, etc. wouldn't consistently waste their money if they didn't find any humor in them. If you don't like the humor, then maybe it's not for you. That doesn't make it right to bash the movie because you don't like the form of comedy.
Here's a little story. I like Frazier and Seinfeld and my friends don't. I can watch every episode but they can't. So guess what? They don't watch Frazier or Seinfeld. They don't leave negative reviews because they don't waste their time watching it to know what to negatively review. They go send their time watching something that they do it. They don't go seeking out Tyler Perry boards and leaving negative messages about "Why is there another movie?" and "Why is black people going to support him?" and "Why is movies making so much money?"
One last thing. Tyler Perry has been respected by black people since his stage play days. If you really want to laugh, try watching his stage plays "Diary Of A Mad Black Woman" and "I Can Do Bad By Myself". He wrote those plays while living inside his car, homeless and trying to catch that big break. We (black people) have a greater respect for his journey to get to this point and not because he's black (that's just icing on the cake).
Yes, the movies aren't all good, but not all bad. As long as his movies and plays are funny and we (black people and a lot of other races) can relate, then we will also go see them.
Just learn to live it with.
