Madea bothers me. Is she supposed to actually be a woman or is she a transvestite? All I can see is a transvestite whenever I watch these movies.

She's a woman. Now if you want a scary thought, Tyler Perry has said he has seen several women who look just like Madea, they are built like her, wear the same dress, have the same hairdo, and on these women it is NOT a costume. lol

She's meant to be a woman, and to everyone in the Madea Universe, she's a masculine woman. To the audience, of course, we know she's a man in drag.

lol I remember that now. I think he was doing some 4th wall breaking because other than that instance everyone's been pretending she's female.
