shareActually, I'm not as over the top as I'm coming off. I just felt that you're post was a bit extreme. To me, I don't really hold much credibility to a films box office as much as I do on how well it was received by the public. Unfortunately, films like Twilight which seem to target a teeny bopper audience succeeds far greater than movies that contain far more substance.

I did the post only because people come on to Tyler Perry message boards and I think it's fine to write what you want about the film, I'm okay with that.
But there is a trollish element that wants to bring race into the discussion. They talk Obama, Al Sharpton, BET, and make offensive comments about black people, without acknowledging that some white people might like Tyler Perry also. He didn't pull in $25 million+ off a black audience alone.
And I feel the argument regarding movies of substance, but some of these people are dismissive of black actors, producers, and others by virtue of their skin color. Talent knows no color.
So my comment wasn't towards people like you, it was more for racists who talk trash.
One of the good things about the Tyler Perry films is that they make money and are low budget.

sharePoet I take everything I said back. You seem like a pretty good person and I'm sorry if my comments were a bit crude. I agree with one point that a lot of black films often get rated lower than deserved just because it was done by a black person, but there are a lot of good actors who are black that still really have the appreciating of all audiences. Actors like Laurence Fishburne, Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, Denzel Washington really show a personality that exists out of the ghetto image that people seem to stereotype to all black people.
