Eugene Levy was BORING and DULL

I was extremely disappointed in his performance. I was expecting him to be in his "Jim's Dad" mode or maybe even "Howie" from Bringing Down the House.

He was too wimpy and corny.

I also noticed that this was a bit too serious for a comic actor like him.

I agree he was the worst part of the movie. Every scene with him in it was awkward and unfunny. I also thought it was weird that Denise Richards was his wife. I mean come on the dude is a boring 65 year old grandpa and he's married to a 40 year old hottie, and you feel like she's just in it for the money. But yet nothing was said about that in the movie were supposed to believe that they're both just madly in love give me a break.

Yeah that love story between them is kinda icky. And plus it's mentioned that Levy's character is supposed to be 52. He doesn't like anything close to 52. He doesnt look 65 but he looks too old for some damn Denise Richards. Tyler Perry should've casted Ed Helms (Stu from The Hangover). He would've been funny.

That Frenchman thing near the end was lame as hell. He looks like something off a MadTV skit.

I very highly enjoy Eugene Levy, but I have to agree (maybe even HE would!!) here, even though it SI mnice to try to see him be a semi-"drsamatic" character actor, yet (like Jim Belushi was on "According to Jim:", though I still enjoy COurtney Thorne Smith on that show) married to someone young enough to be a freakin' DAUGHTER< and that "rebellious daughter" shoulds have been a rebellious GRAND daughter!!!:) Still enjoyed the movie...

I think George was an okay character. Funny how Joe actually turned out to be his biological father..

I completely agree! xD He always is. Totally unboring.
And I wasn't bothered at all by his being paired with Denise. I could see her loving him and not just his money.

I agree with op and hudsonz. I wasn't sure if it was the character or just horrific acting. Plus there's no way a woman that hot would be with that character. The only thing worse than levy was romeo's acting.

I didn't like him or Denise Richards in this movie.... they seemed like such an odd couple... no chemistry at all

I thought he was pretty funny, especially when he goes into his office in the beginning of the movie. But you got to like nerdy characters to appreciate him. While watching the movie I asked my wife where did we see that guy before, then remembered him as the more nerdy-neurotic musician in A Mighty Wind. I did think his marriage to Richards was a bit of a mis-match but then I am buying in to a movie where a black guy is playing an over the top black woman. I checked reality at the door an went along for ride - and it was a fun ride.
