Realistic radiation poisoning?

To many people who call this movie very realistic... So Will was poisoned with polonium and he peacefully dies a few weeks later in his bed? In real life he would spend his last time in terrible pain, with his internal organs failing one after another, he would have a terrible diarrhea, vomiting, liver failure, possible bleeding from his skin, and he would die a terrible death. This is what happens with radiation poisoning, not just loosing your hair. If his friend Max saw him in real life, I doubt he would ever side with terrorists.

He didn't loose the hair, they cut it off to easily apply the needle things in his head.

Yes, that part did not reflect what Polonium poisoning is like in the real world (as detailed in the goofs page).

So, they slightly changed the nature of Polonium poisoning for narrative purposes. No big deal, really.
