Haven't seen this yet but is it similar in tone to Blue Valentine? marriage on the rocks?

Defienetly. But you need to watch first 2 two get to know chracters and care about them. But they are more romantic. This is the one everything starts to become *beep* up.

Yes, in fact, I thought Blue Valentine did a much better job, though just as depressing. But Before Midnight was just flat out flawed.
